Young earth Christians aren't much different. They unwittingly so disregard science, and/or education, they feel qualified to speak to the age of the universe after a reading of an ancient Hebrew document in a very western civilization, scholastic manner. They don't feel the need for any expertise in any discipline that would give them any credibilty in this arena. Frustrating. I can make a pretty good Biblical argument for an old earth and one for a young earth; the reality is I don't know how old the earth is, and I probably shouldn't be telling people I do.
